Other Lochaber Events
This is the first in a series of six guided walks we are collaborating with High Life Highland Countryside Rangers and Ewen’s Room on. Each walk will be in a different location with a different theme. To start the series of walks, there will be two themes of this first walk: ‘Mindfulness and Forest Bathing’ and ‘Spot the Tree Decorations’ (see below).
On the walk you can find out more about the Community Woodland which was a ‘policy woodland’ planted by the Riddell family in the 1800s and has over 60 species of tree, including firs, spruces, pines, and deciduous trees.
During this walk, Hugh will be providing a more in-depth introduction to Forest Bathing, and other Mindfulness activities that you can practice outdoors.
All walks are FREE OF CHARGE, but donations will be welcomed and divided between High Life Highland and Ewen’s Room.
We will meet for the walk in the carpark between the Loch and the Strontian Show Field at 1:20 pm
Prior to this walk, Sarah will holding a Nature-Based Craft workshop at the Ariundle Centre on Saturday 4th April where you will be able to create tree decorations from natural materials. These will then be hung in the Community Woodland and we hope that during this walk, we can have a friendly competition to see who can spot the most tree decorations.
Places on this workshop can be booked at www.darachcroft.com/nature-based-crafts.
Booking for this walk can be made through the High Life Highland online booking system at https://booking.highlifehighland.com/guest-activities/2906/ (note that the venue is given as the Sunart Centre, but each walk will be as advertised above).
Booking is necessary to ensure that we have details of who is participating in case of emergencies. If you experience problems with booking, or would prefer not to book online, please contact Eilidh-Ann on 07884 102584 or email her at [email protected]
