Welcome to summer – the energy of this time of year is fun, joyful and sociable. We’ll be working on building focus and maintaining balance in tune with the high energy of summertime. This class will begin with breath work and Chi Gong to create heat and warmth in the body before moving onto yoga poses and sequences that are aimed at opening and balancing our energy lines for summer. These meridians run along the arms so expect to work with the arms and shoulders, gaining strength and exploring mobility as part of the session. A guided meditation (yoga nidra) ends the session and will help you relax and explore your inner landscape, with time to chat over a BYO cuppa afterwards.
The session will last for around 1 hour 45 minutes to give you time to immerse yourself in the energy of summer and is live streamed using Zoom. Please make sure you have enough space at home to roll out a mat and bring a cushion, folded blanket or block to sit on.
This class is suitable for beginners and due to its gentle nature is open to anyone who is interested in coming along. There will be time at the end to hang out and chat over a BYO cuppa and cake if you would like to stay on after the class has finished.
Please note online live streamed classes do give us a lot of benefits in being able to keep practicing together but please be aware that I cannot see you particularly well or may not see you at all (depending on your camera set up) which means I am unable to give individual advice as I would in a face to face class. Therefore, be especially aware that you are joining this class and practicing at your own risk. As with all my yoga classes I encourage you to work at your own pace and only do as much as is right for you.
